The Log Craftsman

Neil Norgaard became interested in log construction in the early 1980’s and learned the trade at the College of the Siskiyous in Weed, CA. After moving south to Somerset, CA and working as a foreman for a while, Neil decided to start his own company.

The Log Craftsman was founded in 1987. At the time we were building hand crafted log homes and later branching out to milled log homes, framed homes, and other structures.

Our purpose has always been to allow our customers to see their dream homes become reality. We have a very strong relationship with the El Dorado-Amador wine industry. Our projects have included numerous wineries, tasting rooms, and private residences of wine makers.
